Patient Care Coordinator
Kayla puts the “Care” in Patient Care Coordinator! She guides patients through the entire process, from what to anticipate at an office visit, to how to properly care for your eyes following a procedure. Kayla has been in ophthalmology and working with Dr. Lyons since 2014 – she even travels to Seaside with Dr. Lyons to help care for patients as a Scribe.
Kayla is a native of the Pacific Northwest and loves soaking up the outdoors with her goldendoodle named Elvis.
Melanie brings a variety of experience in ophthalmology to her role as Office Manager at Lyons Eye. She started her career in the field as an Optician in 2009, and has served in many positions ever since. Melanie has known Dr. Lyons since 2014 and enjoys the process of empowering patients to understand the role they play in their own healthcare, while walking alongside them on their journey to better vision.
Managing the clinic is not the only thing that keeps Melanie active! Outside of Lyons Eye you’ll find her and her husband tending to their two young children, and watching her oldest participate in gymnastics competitions.
Melissa is the Optician at Lyons Eye who will help you select the perfect pair of eyewear for your lifestyle. She has been working with Dr. Lyons since 2016 in Gresham and you can count on receiving attentive and personalized care from her – always. She thoroughly enjoys being able to help people see their best so they can live life to the fullest!
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Melissa now resides in the Gresham area with her two dogs.
Patient Service Representative
Sonja is a familiar face and friendly voice at Lyons Eye! She has been in ophthalmology and working with Dr. Lyons since 2002. As Patient Service Representative, she is the first person patients encounter during their experience with the clinic. What has kept her going in the field for all these years is her love for the patients and making them feel at ease and as comfortable as possible during their visit.
Sonja is originally from Gresham and currently lives here with her husband, while her three grown children and two grandchildren are not far away.
Ophthalmic Technician, COA
Wendy Brevick is the lead Technician at Lyons Eye in both Gresham and Seaside. She has been in the field and working with Dr. Lyons since 2006 and has earned her Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) accreditation. Her greatest pride and what keeps her motivated is helping patients see their best and witnessing their lives improve following cataract surgery.
Wendy is a native Southern Californian and it shows through her desire to be near a body of water as often as possible! She has lived in Oregon since 1996 and has raised two daughters here. Outside of the practice you’ll likely find her spending time with her girls, hiking, at the beach or caring for her pets (three cats and one dog).
